Pre-event: FTC Team Meeting and Workshops on Saturday, January 10 2009, 12:00 – 3:00 PM [The doors will be open by 11 AM and if you like we can start informally at that time, but we will schedule any presentations to start after 12.] We are sorry if the cancellation of this weekend’s FTC scrimmage has caused problems. In place of the scrimmage this Saturday, there will be an informal meeting to share ideas and strategies for the 2008 FTC challenge. Members of new and veteran teams are welcome to attend. Included will be time for a Q&A Forum. All members of local teams are invited to this opportunity to collaborate on plans for this year's challenge: FACE OFF. Please bring any robots you have constructed whether they are working or otherwise. We will have discussions which focus on software as well as hardware along with team strategy. Please come and meet members of other teams who will be competing this season. Bring your gracious professionalism, your ideas and problems to share and solve. There will be a choice of two topics for formal presentations. Let us know which of these is of primary interest. Suggestions are also be welcome. 1. The FTC Tournament Experience - for rookie teams, describing what an FTC competition entails from start to finish.
2. FTC/Tetrix software environments compared - describing and contrasting the NXT/G, LabVIEW and RobotC environments, with a more detailed follow-up on RobotC.
