Post-event:

Team Unlimited had a GREAT time at the Garden State Rumble.  We were in the 20-team Parkway Division with our old friends, Rhode Rage (121), and our new alliance partners, the Steel Hornets (118) and Zero Gravity Junior B (221).  We especially note that the captain of the winning alliance, Power Surge (2945) fielded an awesome robot!

Pre-event:

The Garden State Rumble is scheduled for February 7th at the campus of The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), starting at 8:00 AM in the Student Recreation Center.

NJ FTC Tournament Info - .PPT file - includes schedules, campus map, venue floor plan, team list, release form and pages of other useful information.

Before You Come

·         #1 Critical Item- To compete, your Robot MUST use one of the Competition Templates

·         These templates have been available at www.ftctraining.com along with a practice version of the Field Management System.

Once in the Door

·         When you arrive, send 1-2 team representatives including an adult directly to the Registration Tables.

At Team Registration you must turn in a FIRST Consent Form for each participant. (sample attached).

Your team will also be assigned a Judged Interview time slot on arrival and must turn in your Engineering Notebook.

If you have pre-ordered pizza (see Food section below), now is the time to pay – cash or check made out to “TCNJ – Dept of Technical Studies”

The rest of the team may go immediately to the Pit Area. Your Team Number will be marked at your table.

Fast Track Inspection - - > Practice

·         It is essential that your Robot accomplish both Software and Mechanical Inspection as early in the day as possible.

There will be multiple lanes of Inspection Stations. Choose your lane wisely.

Be adaptable - If Software is backed-up, switch over and accomplish Mechanical Inspection as soon as possible.

When the robot passes each inspection type, an inspection marker will be attached.

Robots can only compete if they have both a Software and a Mechanical Inspection marker affixed to them.

As soon as, you have both markers on your Robot report to Pit Administration to be assigned a Practice Match.

During the Day – QUEUING IS VITAL

Since the schedule will be tight, teams need to know we can't hold up matches. Be ready on time. (Respect thy Queuer.)

As noted on the updated schedule, it may become necessary to continue matches during lunch should we fall behind schedule.

Don’t forget to Bring

·         Spare Parts, Battery Charger and Multi-Outlet Extension Cord <- - It is a good idea to have your items marked

·       SAFETY GLASSES

            Food

·         As always, the students of TES will have some great snacks for sale at the competition venue throughout the day. (We will also be selling Tournament T-Shirts)

·         Breakfast – Please indicate on the attached survey form if you buy some breakfast foods at the venue rather than on the drive in. That will help with our planning.

·         Once again, we are offering teams the opportunity to pre-order pizza for lunch. We need your input on the survey by February 3rd.
